It was a new, most exciting and successful venture for SANA! With the support of ISUOG, and in collaboration with LSOG, SANA partnered with Hopital Aboujaoude in order to live stream ISUOG’s Advanced Doppler Course into the Conference Hall at Hopital Aboujaoude in Jal Al Dib, Lebanon. This was made possible by the gracious hospitality of Hopital Aboujaoude and the generous support of Clearblue and General Medical Equipment.
Â
This proved to be such an invaluable and futuristic educational activity where over 70 physicians of various disciplines and levels of training from all over Lebanon gathered to attend a course simultaneously as it occurred in London at the ISUOG Headquarters. There were Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Radiologists and residents of both specialties from various universities present who drove in from all over the country.re membership to all of the day’s registrants and ISUOG’s free 2 year Trainee Membership were also disclosed to all who were present. She subsequently presented SANA to the attendees with its mission and accomplishments of having provided care to over 1000 patients thus far in addition to SANA’s various educational endeavors, this being its newest! Subsequently, Dr. Nabil Helou gave the perfect overview of the basics of Doppler in order to set the stage for the intensive course.

Â
At 10:30 Lebanon time, IT connections were made and we were transferred to the UK. Words cannot describe the impact of the experience but it was truly out of this world to be able to sit in Lebanon and attend a course in London!
Â
Â
The lectures were superb and they were deliveredby the luminaries in the field: Drs. Bilardo, Crispi, Hecher, Khalil, Lees, Prior and Vesser. The elite group presented the various aspects of one of the most important topics in prenatal diagnosis and screening in a most comprehensive manner. In addition, our attendees were able to submit online questions to the speakers and get them answered.
Â
Our breaks coincided with the breaks in the UK and most everyone stayed glued to their seats till well after 4pm. Over 20 stayed beyond 6pm and a dozen die-hards till 8:40pm!
Â
The feedback was phenomenal and many of the attendees voiced their thoughts as to what would make this better in the future as well as topics they would like to see presented. In addition, they were encouraged to submit any additional thoughts or suggestions by e-mail.
Â
This truly proved to be a transcendent experience, one that eradicated all geographical boundaries and enabled the noble exchange of science at the highest possible level. It was truly an honor for SANA to have served as a catalyst for this endeavor made possible by ISUOG and the amazing ISUOG Secretariat and faculty! SANA expresses its sincerest appreciation to Dr. Imad Aboujaoude who believed in this venture and backed it whole-heartedly, LSOG for supporting our activity, and Clearblue and General Medical Equipment for their generous support at such short notice. And of course the dedication of the Lebanese attendees who cancelled all their work and clinics at a 4 day notice shall forever be remembered! SANA looks forward to more such exciting educational activities in the future…
