SANA Certifies Salma Mariam CNM on 11 February 2016

It was a most memorable session for SANA today as during it 6th didactic session for the midwifery students at the Lebanese University (LU), it had a surprise celebration! With much pride, SANA celebrated today the completion of the training “The 6-Step Approach to Basic Obstetrical Sonography” in accordance with ISUOG Outreach Guidelines, to CNM Salma Mariam.

Over the past year, and after the completion of the first ultrasound course given to the midwifery students at the Lebanese University in Tripoli, Salma demonstrated utmost dedication and commitment as she continued to accompany SANA on its outreach missions. She succeeded in demonstrating the required skill with the completion of a practical examination on Jan 5, 2016. Today, Salma was awarded ISUOG Certification in the presence of Mrs. Wafa’ Krayyim, the Coordinator for the Midwifery Students at the LU, and Mrs. Aline Jbara from the Lebanese University. This was also in the presence of Salma’s mother, current students and SANA’s Reem S. Abu-Rustum, Rita Riachi and Zeina Chaaban.

The celebration commenced with SANA’s Reem S. Abu-Rustum thanking ISUOG Outreach for the unconditional support and the Lebanese University for its vision and support of this new successful venture. She then congratulated Salma on her perseverance, focus and dedication that allowed her to reach this day, being the only one amongst her classmates to have completed all certification requirements. Mrs. Wafa’ Krayyim then spoke about Salma, the true “role model”, whose inquisitiveness and love of knowledge continue to distinguish her. Mrs. Krayyim then handed Salma her certificate and Dr. Reem pinned Salma with SANA’s pin. This was followed by cake cutting and many congratulations from the aspiring students!
