In the August heat, SANA’s team returned back to Aabdeh today for a medical/educational mission with Medecins Sans Frontieres. Accompanying SANA was trainee midwife Nariman.
Â
As always, it was a very busy day with many high risk patients who received comprehensive care by SANA’s team. The patients ranged in age between 17 and 36 years. SANA carried out sonographic assessments on all the patients and they were all scanned by trainee midwife Nariman under the guidance of SANA’s Reem S. Abu-Rustum in accordance with the 6-step approach. Nariman was systematic and thorough in her approach and demonstrated comfort and skill as she carried out the scans. SANA redated 28% of the patients seen today.
Â
As always, Midwife Zeinab from MSF worked closely with SANA’s team and helped make all the necessary arrangements and follow ups for the patients and provided them with the needed supplements.
