SANA in Dar Al Zahra with Medecins Sans Frontieres 29 November 2016

SANA returned to Abu Samra today for a medical/educational mission with Medecins Sans Frontieres at their locale in Dar Al Zahra’. Accompanying SANA was trainee midwife Hajar Hasbini.

 

It was an intense day for the team as despite the dropping temperatures, the clinic was packed with patients who were well into their second and early third trimesters of pregnancies. Full assessments were carried out on the patients and they were all scanned by Hajar under the guidance of SANA’s Reem S. Abu-Rustum. Hajar carried out the 6-Step approach and as a result, redated xx of the patients seen.

 

SANA saw several high risk patients in need of follow up and intensified prenatal care. It was MSF’s midwife Jinane who was outstanding in making all the necessary arrangements for the patients.

 

At the end of another rewarding day, the team headed back home and plans were made for the next visit DAZ…

 

SANA Returns to Bab Al Tabbaneh with Medecins Sans Frontieres 23 November 2016

SANA returned to Bab Al Tabbaneh today for a medical/educational mission with Medecins Sans Frontieres. Accompanying SANA was trainee midwife Jinan Hamoui.

 

It was the usual busy clinic for SANA’s team as full assessments were carried out on the patients inclusive of obstetrical sonography. Midwife Jinan proved outstanding today in her ability to carry out the 6 Steps Approach, obtain all biometric measurements and identify key anatomical structures. She redated 19% of the patients seen.

 

SANA thanks the MSF team and particularly midwife Zeinab who was instrumental in arranging for all the follow up care required on the complicated patients.

 

At the end of another rewarding day, the team headed back home and plans were made for the next visit to Bab Al Tabbaneh…

 

SANA Returns to Aabdeh with Medecins San Frontieres 14 October 2016

SANA returned to Aabdeh today for a medical/educational mission with Medecins Sans Frontieres. Accompanying SANA was Midwife Diana Chalak.

 

IT was another busy day with a packed clinic for SANA’s team who saw patients that ranged in age between 20 and 43 years and were in therir 3rd to 7th months of pregnancy. The team carried out complete obstetrical assessments inclusive of obstetrical sonograpghy. Diana scanned the patients today, under the guidance of SANA’s Reem S. Abu-Rustum, in accordance with the 6-steps approach. The team redated 44% of the patients seen.

 

SANA is grateful to MSF and their team, especially midwife Zeinab, for all the coordination and assistance today. Because of their support, arrangements were made for all the patients to get the needed followup and care.

 

And at the end of a rewarding day, the team headed back home and the dates were set for the next visit with MSF…
